Through the Treetops and Castles

Step into a fairytale…our journey begins where all fairytales do – in Trakošćan Castle, one of the most beautiful castles in Croatia and a protected cultural monument of national significance. A walk through its grand halls, a view from the tower, and the collection of medieval weapons and armor transport us back in time. After the tour, we descend into the surrounding forest park and enjoy a peaceful lakeside stroll – the nature in this part of Zagorje is just as magical as the castle itself.

We continue toward another Zagorje gem – Mihanović Castle, an elegant manor house, named after Antun Mihanović, the author of the Croatian national anthem. Today, the castle lives on as a restaurant serving traditional cuisine, offering us a royal lunch experience.
The restaurant is part of Croatia’s cultural heritage and classified as a first-category historical monument. Inside, you'll find seasonal artworks by Mirjana Smolić and a bust of Antun Mihanović, which also adorns the park that bears his name. Surrounded by nature, picturesque hills, an old orchard, evergreen trees, and a charming walking trail, this place invites you to slow down and soak in the views of the rolling Zagorje landscape.
